Writing is off today. Don’t feel like one of those productive days. Got too self judgy. Didn’t let the words flow, even if they were garbage. Remember, all first drafts are shit. They suck. Every one. Your job is not to nail it the first time. It’s to keep showing up and putting in the work. Writing is supposed to be hard. It’s supposed to be difficult. It’s supposed to be filled with self doubt and self judgment. You can’t hit a home run every day. It’s too much to expect. But you can show up. You can put in the time. You can put in the work. That’s in your control. Sure there will bad days where nothing is coherent and you don’t want to show up, but you do. The difference between good and great. What you do on your off days is the difference. Can you keep showing up even when it’s hard. Putting in the work when everything is telling you to quit. Show up for those moments. Show up for yourself. Show up for your craft. It’s a privilege to live the life you have. A 1 of 1. The luckiest person in the world. It’s your job to share it and teach as much as you can. Only way to do that for you is writing. In creating. In working on your craft all the time. Keep showing up even when your writing is off
